BIOGRAPHY

Tan Ngoc Nguyen is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Architectural Engineering of Sejong University which is ranked 251-300th in the world according to Times Higher Education (THE) database. He received his Ph.D. from Sejong University in February 2020. To present, he has worked for Sejong University for over 3 years. He is an expert in Computational Solid Mechanics and has over 8 years experience working in this field. His research focuses on developing numerical methods, applying robust numerical methods to model structures considering modern materials and new theoretical models. In addition, he investigates highly nonlinear problems, instabilities of structures and applies artificial intelligence to structural engineering.

2008-2012: working as a civil engineer in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

• Structural analysis: beam, plate, shell, membrane.
  

• Develop numerical methods: isogeometric analysis, meshfree method.

• Apply deep learning to computational mechanics.
