Dear ,
We have launched the findings of a major ADI investigation of the fur industry after our undercover team placed hidden cameras inside a Polish fur farm to record what happens to the animals.
We followed the tragic lives of foxes Borys and Eryk, and their sister Aleska, from birth. We see them nursed by their mother and Aleska taking her first halting steps as a tiny cub. Their world is a small wire cage. After a few weeks their mother is removed and we see the growing cubs explore their world and play together. As their coats change to the thick white fur that would protect them through the winter months, their days are numbered; their fur is a prized product.
As foxes on the farm are dragged from their cages by their tails, the animals become more and more frightened. Borys and Eryk try to run and cling to the cage, while a terrified Aleska watches as her brothers are pulled from the cage by their tails, hung upside down and electrocuted. They were less than seven months old. Aleska is spared; she will breed next year’s foxes, her babies taken away from her and killed like her brothers.
Watch and share our video please, but be warned the footage is graphic.
We will be using this footage to show people the suffering of animals on fur farms. It needs to be seen by consumers, designers, and retailers to convince them to never buy fur. As we are doing with our circus campaign worldwide we hope to end this cruelty through our evidence and public awareness. We will be working for a ban on fur farming in Poland – just as we did successfully in Britain in 2000.
Please help us end this cruel trade. Donate here. Take part in our campaign actions here. Read some of the coverage so far: One Green Planet, Daily Mail, and The World News. Please help us tell the stories of animals like Borys and Eryk as they represent more than 110 million animals dying on fur farms around the world every year. With your help we can end this cruel killing. Yours for the animals, Jan Creamer President
